Its primary aim is to achieve global sustainable development in the 21st century. \nThe main objectives of Agenda 21 are to combat environmental damage, poverty, and disease through global cooperation based on shared responsibilities, mutual needs, and common obligations. One of the most significant features of Agenda 21 is its emphasis on local action. It mandates that every local government should draw up its own local Agenda 21 to address specific local environmental, economic, and social issues effectively through community participation.
