They often label someone as 'cultured' just because they speak politely or live in luxury. The author corrects this fundamental misconception by stating that true culture has nothing to do with external superficialities or material wealth. Culture is essentially related to the inner state of human intellect, moral awakening, and welfare-oriented actions. If a person is educated and lives luxuriously but lacks empathy, societal responsibility, and human values, they cannot be called cultured. Conversely, a simple person with noble thoughts, compassion, and a constant desire to help others possesses true culture, irrespective of their material status or standard of living.
