Story: The Test of Honesty
\nIt was a sunny Tuesday morning. Rohan, a Grade 9 student, was walking toward his school gate when his eyes fell on a thick leather wallet lying near the bushes. Curiosity prompted him to pick it up. Upon opening it, he was stunned to find several currency notes amounting to thousands of rupees along with credit cards and an identity card. \nFor a split second, a tempting thought crossed his mind—he could buy the expensive bicycle he had always wanted. However, his conscience immediately reminded him of the moral values taught by his parents and teachers. Recognizing the anxiety the owner must be feeling, Rohan rushed straight to the Principal’s office and handed over the wallet. \nThe Principal checked the identity card and called the owner, a poor shopkeeper who had dropped his earnings while dropping his child off at school. The man arrived in tears, deeply relieved to regain his life savings. The Principal praised Rohan’s exemplary integrity during the morning assembly and presented him with a certificate of honesty.
Moral: Honesty is the best policy.
