Story: A Friend in Need
\nAs the rain lashed violently against the window pane, Rahul heard a faint, desperate knock on his front door. Surprised by someone visiting during such terrible weather, he cautiously walked over to the door and opened it. Standing on the porch, drenched from head to toe and shivering uncontrollably, was his classmate Amit. \nAmit looked terrified and explained that while returning from his tuition classes, his bicycle tire had punctured, and his phone battery had died. Unable to call his parents in the heavy storm, he had lost his way in the dark until he spotted Rahul's house light. \nRahul immediately brought Amit inside, wrapped him in a warm blanket, and offered him dry clothing and hot tea. Knowing Amit’s parents would be worried sick, Rahul used his landline to call Amit’s father and inform him of his son’s safety. An hour later, when the rain subsided, Amit’s father arrived to pick him up and expressed immense gratitude toward Rahul and his family for their timely help and kindness.
Moral: True kindness lies in helping others when they need it the most.
5 Key Guidelines for Effective Story Writing in Exams:
- Craft an Engaging Title: Choose a short, catchy, and relevant title that gives a hint of the central theme without revealing the climax.
- Follow a Logical Plot Structure: Ensure the story flows smoothly through an introduction, rising action, climax, falling action, and a clear resolution.
- Develop Relatable Characters: Limit the number of characters (preferably 2-3) to maintain focus and describe their actions and emotions vividly.
- Use Simple and Natural Dialogues: Incorporate brief dialogues to make the story lively and realistic, taking care to punctuate them correctly.
- Maintain Word Count & Grammar: Write within the prescribed word limit using correct tenses (usually past tense) and ensure proper paragraph breaks for readability.
