Early Life: Tansen lived with his parents near Gwalior. He was a mischievous child and a brilliant mimic, able to make the exact call of any bird or animal.
Meeting Swami Haridas: Once, Swami Haridas and his disciples were resting in the forest. Young Tansen hid behind a tree and roared like a tiger to frighten them. The Swami saw through the trick, appreciated his talent, and became his teacher.
Training: Tansen learned music from Swami Haridas for eleven years and became a great singer.
Entry to Royal Court: Tansen married a girl named Hussaini and later became a court musician for Emperor Akbar. Akbar was so impressed by his music that he visited Tansen's house and gave him many gifts.
The Rivalry: Other courtiers became jealous of Tansen's fame and success. They plotted to ruin him by making him sing Raga Deepak.

Raga Deepak (राग दीपक):
- A traditional Indian classical raga associated with fire.
- Effect: According to the story, singing it properly generates immense heat, setting the atmosphere ablaze and burning the singer to ashes if not balanced correctly.
Raga Megh (राग मेघ):
- A raga associated with rain.
- Usage: Tansen cured himself of the burning heat of Raga Deepak by making his daughter and her friend sing Raga Megh, which brought immediate rain and cooled his body.
