Inverse Trigonometric Functions

🏫 CBSEClass 12Mathematics

💡 Principal Value Branch of Inverse Trigonometric Functions

Inverse trigonometric functions map a trigonometric ratio back to its angle. Since trig functions are periodic, their domains are restricted to make them one-one and onto (bijective).

• Principal Value: The unique angle value lying within the standard restricted range. • Range of sin⁻¹(x): [-π/2, π/2] • Range of cos⁻¹(x): [0, π] Example: sin⁻¹(1/2) = π/6.
