Triple fusion is the unique biological process in angiosperms where the second male gamete, which is haploid, fuses simultaneously with two haploid polar nuclei (or a diploid secondary nucleus) present within the central cell of the embryo sac. This fusion involves three haploid nuclei coming together, hence the name triple fusion. This event occurs inside the central cell of the female gametophyte, also known as the embryo sac, located within the ovule of a flowering plant, ultimately resulting in the formation of the primary endosperm nucleus.
