Alloys are extensively used instead of pure metals in electrical heating appliances such as electric irons, toasters, and room heaters because alloys possess significantly higher electrical resistivity compared to their constituent pure metals. Due to this high resistivity, they produce a tremendous amount of heat energy when an electric current passes through them. Furthermore, alloys have a remarkable property that they do not oxidize or burn easily even at very high temperatures, ensuring long operational durability and safety for commercial and domestic heating appliances without degrading structurally over extended periods of usage.
