Parashuram was a devout worshiper of Lord Shiva, and he considered Shiva's bow as a sacred emblem of his guru. When Lord Ram broke the bow during Sita's Swayamvar to fulfill the condition of marriage, the loud sound echoed through the universe. Parashuram was infuriated because he viewed the breaking of the divine bow as a grave insult and defiance to Lord Shiva. Upon entering the assembly hall in immense fury, he demanded to know who dared to commit such an act. Lakshman, rather than being frightened by Parashuram's fierce rage, reacted with sarcasm, wit, and humor. He smiled and reminded Parashuram that in childhood, they had broken many small, ordinary bows during play, yet Parashuram never showed such anger. Lakshman argued that all bows were equal in their eyes, and the old bow broke simply at Ram's gentle touch, so there was no reason to be enraged at Ram or anyone else.
