The Gopis have compared Uddhav's message of Yoga to several vivid examples to show their utter disinterest and distaste for it. Firstly, they compare the message of Yoga to a 'karui kakdi' (bitter gourd), which is impossible to swallow or taste because it leaves a bad, unbearable bitterness in the mouth. Secondly, they compare Yoga to a 'vyaadhi' (a terrible disease) that they have never seen, heard of, or experienced before. The Gopis are deeply immersed in 'Sagun Bhakti' (devotion to a formful God, Krishna) and see Krishna's love as sweet and life-giving. For them, Uddhav's abstract, formless 'Nirgun' Yoga message feels unwanted, harsh, and painful, completely unsuitable for loving hearts like theirs.
