When an object moves along a circular path with a constant speed, its motion is called uniform circular motion. Even though the speed remains constant throughout the motion, the direction of motion continuously changes at every single point along the circular trajectory. Since velocity is a vector quantity that depends on both speed and direction, a continuous change in direction results in a continuous change in velocity. Since acceleration is the rate of change of velocity, uniform circular motion is always considered an accelerated motion.
