Evaporation is the surface phenomenon in which a liquid changes into its vapor state at any temperature below its boiling point. Increasing the surface area increases the rate of evaporation because evaporation is a surface process. A larger surface area allows more liquid particles at the top layer to escape into the atmosphere simultaneously.
