When Raman looked into the well, he saw a tiger, a monkey, a snake, and a human trapped inside. The animals warned Raman not to save the human, stating that humans were ungrateful and treacherous by nature. Because of these warnings given by the animals, Raman felt very hesitant to pull the man out of the dark well. However, when the jeweller pleaded earnestly with Raman to save his life, Raman's kind heart melted. He thought that saving a fellow human being's life was his moral duty, regardless of what the animals had cautioned him. Therefore, despite his initial doubts, Raman decided to help the jeweller and pulled him out of the well successfully.
