MP Board · Class 10 · Hindi · Kshitij Prose: Balgobin BhagatUnder what circumstances did Balgobin Bhagat die, and how was his death aligned with the principles of his life?
Balgobin Bhagat's death was as peaceful and dignified as his entire life. He died while maintaining his strict daily routine without any compromise. Even in his old age and failing health, he walked thirty miles to take a holy dip in the Ganga. Upon returning, he developed a high fever, but he refused to give up his daily practices of morning baths, farming, and singing bhajans. People advised him to rest, but he merely laughed it off. On his last evening, he sang his songs with the same devotion, though his voice sounded weak, like a breaking thread. The next morning, when the villagers did not hear his usual morning songs, they went to his house and found that Balgobin Bhagat was no more; only his lifeless body remained. His death was a quiet merger of his soul with the divine.
