Its primary objective is to balance our present needs for resources with the conservation of resources for future generations. It aims at preventing ecological destruction, environmental degradation, and indiscriminate exploitation of non-renewable natural resources while simultaneously encouraging economic progress, equity, and environmental protection across the globe for long-term survival.
