The Gopis compared the message of Yog to a 'Karvi Kakdi' (bitter cucumber/gourd) because a bitter cucumber is completely unpalatable and leaves an unpleasant, offensive taste in the mouth as soon as one tastes it. Similarly, the dry message of Yog given by Uddhav was deeply unpleasant, distasteful, and unacceptable to the Gopis, whose hearts were already completely saturated with the sweet sweetness of Krishna's devotion.
